§1 Information concerning the collection of personal data

(1) The following informs you of the collection of personal data when using our website. Personal data means all data that refers to you personally, e.g. name, address, email addresses and user habits.

(4) When you contact us by email or using the contact form, the data transferred by you (your email address, possibly your name and telephone number) will be stored by us in order to respond to your enquiries. We erase the data obtained in this way as soon as storage is no longer necessary, or we restrict processing in the event that statutory retention periods apply.

(5) The following provides you with detailed information of our individual procedures insofar as we draw on the services of external providers for individual functions of our internet presence or if we wish to use your data for marketing purposes. We will also state the criteria applied to the duration of storage.

(1) You may exercise the following rights in regard to your personal data:

(2) You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority concerning the processing of your personal data by us.

§3 Collection of personal data when visiting our website

(1) We collect the data transferred to our server when you visit our website for informational purposes only, which means that you do not register or otherwise transfer information to us. If you wish to browse our website, we collect the following data that we require for technical purposes to show you our website and to ensure its stability and security (the legal basis is set out in Art. 6 (1) 1st sentence (f) GDPR):

  • IP address
  • Date and time of your access
  • Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Content of the request (actual page)
  • Access status/HTTP status code
  • Data volume transferred
  • Referrer website
  • Browser
  • Operating system and its user interface
  • Language and version of the browser software


(2) In addition to this data, cookies are placed on your computer when you use our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored by your identified browser on your hard drive in order to transfer certain information to the entity placing the cookie (in this case us). Cookies are unable to execute programs and cannot transfer viruses to your computer. Their purpose is to improve the ease of use and efficiency of our internet presence.

  1. Transient cookies are deleted as soon as you close your browser. They include session cookies in particular. They store a session ID that is used to allocate various enquiries placed by your browser during the session on our website. Your computer can therefore be recognised if you return to our internet presence. Session cookies are deleted if you log out or close your browser.
  2. Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a certain period that may differ, depending on the individual cookie. You can delete the cookies at any time in the security settings of your browser. You may configure your browser settings to suit your preferences, e.g. to accept third-party cookies or to block all cookies. Kindly take note that you may not be able to use all functions of our website if you do so.

The Flash cookies we use are not registered by your browser and instead by your Flash plug-in. We also use HTML5 storage objects that are placed on your device. These objects store the necessary data, regardless of which browser you use, and do not have an automatic expiry date. If you wish to reject the processing of Flash cookies, you must install a suitable add-on, e.g. Better Privacy for Mozilla Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/betterprivacy/) or the Adobe Flash Killer Cookie for Google Chrome. You can prevent the use of HTML5 storage objects by switching your browser to private mode. We also recommend that you manually delete cookies and your browser cache on a regular basis.

§4 Web Analytics

Use of Matomo (formerly Piwik)

(1) This website uses the web analytics service Piwik to analyse use of our website and to improve it regularly. The statistics we obtain allow us to improve our internet presence and its ease of use for you. The legal basis for the use of Piwik is set out in Art. 6 (1) 1st sentence (f) GDPR.

(2) Cookies are stored on your computer (for the details, refer to §3) in order to obtain these statistics. The controller exclusively stores the information collected in this way on its server in Germany. You can alter the analysis by deleting current cookies and by blocking the storage of cookies. Kindly take note that you may not be able to use all functions of our website if you block the storage of cookies. You can adjust your browser settings to prevent the storage of cookies. The use of Piwik can also be prevented by unchecking the following box in order to enable the opt-out plug-in: [Piwik iFrame].

(3) This website uses Piwik with the extension "anonymizeIP". Your IP address will only be processed in a truncated form to prevent any personal association with you. The IP address transferred to Piwik by your browser will not be associated with any other data collected by us.

§5 Use of Social Media Network Functions

(1) Our website uses functions provided by the following social media networks: Facebook, LinkedIn, Xing, Google Maps.

The data as stated in §3 is transferred.

(2) We are neither able to influence the collection or processing of data, nor are we aware of the full scope of data processing, the purposes of processing or the retention periods.

We also do not have any information concerning the deletion of data collected by the provider of the plug-in.

(3) The plug-in provider stores the data collected about you as a user profile, which it uses for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or the interest-based design of its website. In particular, this evaluation takes place (also for users that are not logged in) to show interest-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your use of our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, although you must contact the individual plug-in provider in order to exercise this right. By integrating the plug-ins, we allow you to interact with the social networks and other users, which enables us to improve our internet presence and to make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for the use of the plug-ins is set out in Art. 6 (1) 1st sentence (f) GDPR.

(4) The data is transferred, irrespective of whether you have an account with the plug-in provider and are logged into your account. Where you are logged into your account with the plug-in provider, the data collected from us will be directly associated with your account with the plug-in provider. If you click on the activated button and link the page (for instance), the plug-in provider will also store this information in your user account and show it publicly to your contacts. We advise you to routinely log out of your social networks after use and especially before clicking on the activated button. Doing so will prevent your profile being associated with the plug-in provider.

§5.1 Integration of YouTube Videos

(1) We have integrated YouTube videos in our internet presence. These videos are stored on www.YouTube.com and can be played directly on our website. They are all integrated in "privacy-enhanced mode", which means that no data is transferred about you as a YouTube user if you do not play the videos. The data as stated in subsection 2 will only be transferred when you play the videos. We do not have any influence on this transfer of data.

(2) By visiting the website, YouTube receives the information that you accessed the corresponding subpage of our internet presence. The data as stated in §3 of this Privacy Statement is transferred. This takes place irrespective of whether YouTube has provided you with a user account into which you are logged in, or whether you do not have a user account at all. Your data will be associated directly with your account if you are logged into Google. If you do not want the data to be associated with your profile with YouTube, you must log out before clicking on the activated button. YouTube stores your data as a user profile, which it uses for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or the interest-based design of its website. In particular, this evaluation takes place (even for users that are not logged in) to deliver interest-based advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your use of our website. (1) We have otherwise implemented suitable technical and organisational measures to protect your data from accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction or unauthorised access by third parties. Our security measures are state of the art and are improved continuously in line with technological advancements.

§7 Currency and Modification of this Privacy Statement

(1) This Privacy Statement is in compliance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation, which entered into force in May 2018, and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG new). It is updated continuously.
