Making contact with the psychosomatic clinic

You are welcome to contact the clinic by telephone to make an appointment for a medical consultation. At the same time, however, please contact your family doctor or specialist, who will then refer you to our outpatient clinic for a preliminary consultation. As a rule, he/she will issue you with a referral or, in individual cases, an admission slip, depending on whether it is a matter of diagnostics and consultation or whether it will probably involve inpatient or day clinic treatment. Psychological psychotherapists may also refer patients with psychosomatic or mental illness to hospital for treatment.

If you are undergoing outpatient psychotherapy, please talk to your psychotherapist so that treatment can be coordinated as well as possible.

A thorough initial consultation, conducted with you and also in the presence of a partner or family member if requested, will seek to obtain a more precise picture of the complaints and their underlying causes, and also address examinations and treatment attempts that have taken place so far. On this basis, the most favourable, individual procedure can be defined: inpatient treatment at our Psychosomatic Clinic, day clinic treatment in our psychosomatic day clinic, the recommendation of outpatient psychotherapy by practising psychotherapists or referral to another treatment facility.
Information on treatment options in the Psychosomatic Clinic at Städtisches Klinikum (its main focuses of treatment: acute admissions during periods of mental crisis, affective illnesses, addiction problems, psychoses, organically caused mental changes).

The costs for day clinic or inpatient treatment are covered by all statutory and private health insurance companies. It is not necessary to submit an expert opinion or an application to the health insurance company in advance. This does not apply to privately insured patients, who, in the case of planned treatments, should obtain prior confirmation of cost coverage for hospital treatment. If necessary, we will be happy to assist you in this regard.

Registration

Admission to hospital treatment is based on urgency. Transfers from other clinics within Städtisches Klinikum Görlitz or the surrounding hospitals are also possible.
